Organization

Chair Pockets
Chair pockets, sturdy fabric pockets which fit over the backs of chairs, help students to organize their desks. They can be purchased, or they can be made from durable fabric. Student’s name tags slide into the pocket, and there is no need to stick a name tag to the desk. Students may keep home folders and anything else they need to access regularly in their chair pockets. Tip: don’t allow students to keep heavy hardback books in the pockets, which cause them to tear and the thread to unravel.

Home Folders
Students take home quite a few papers in folders. To help the students be more organized and to help parents to decipher what comes home, label each inside pocket. One can be labeled “My Work” and contain graded papers passed back to students and the other can be labeled "Notes from Mrs. _____/Office.”
